Benjamin Nuzzo

About Benjamin…

Born in 1992, Benjamin has studied composition from an early age, winning a music scholarship to Eton College and earning a Distinction in Music in 2010.

He finished his Bachelor’s degree in Music and Mathematics in 2015 at Harvard University, studying with Chaya Czernowin, John Luther Adams and winning the Hugh F MacColl prize for undergraduate composition in 2014 and 2015. He then completed his Masters Degree at the University of Chicago where he studied Composition with Augusta Read Thomas and Anthony Cheung, and Transformational Music Theory with Stephen Rings.

His music has been performed around the world by Members of Boston Ballet and Boston Ballet II, Juventas New Music Ensemble, Ensemble Offspring, Porter Percussion Duo, 2014 Rubenstein Competition Winner Antonii Baryshevskyi, among others.

Benjamin currently works in Boston both writing music and teaching at Boston College. He studies composition with Ofer Ben-Amots (Colorado Springs) and Jan Jirasek (Prague).
